Relationship Between Active Faulting/Fracturing and Magmatism Around Santorini: Seismic Anisotropy From an Active Source Tomography Experiment

چکیده
Abstract In extending volcanic arcs such as the Aegean, tectonic processes exert a significant control on magmatism. Spanning scales from 1 to 10s of km, vents, edifices, and eruptive centers follow orientation of, are located near, fault zones. Whether this magmatism results individual faults/fractures weakening crust or because regional stresses magma input into is debated. Here we investigate magmatic interactions, specifically focusing role local‐scale (<10 km) in controlling We infer fault/fracture orientations anisotropic active‐source P‐wave travel‐time tomography interactions upper Santorini Volcano, Greece, actively deforming region east. use anisotropy magnitude seismic velocity reduction model relative distribution both consistently oriented randomly faults/fractures. The development of magmatism along the Cameroon Volcanic Line: Evidence from seismicity and seismic anisotropy
The Cameroon Volcanic Line (CVL) straddles the continent-ocean boundary in West Africa but exhibits no clear age progression. This renders it difficult to explain by traditional plume/plate motion hypotheses; thus, there remains no consensus on the processes responsible for its development. To understand better the nature of asthenospheric flow beneath the CVL, and the effects of hotspot tecton...

15 صفحه اولP120: The Relationship between Anxiety and Self Efficacy in Active and Inactive Postmenopausal Women
Menopause is one of the steps in women’s life which is accompanied by reducing physical and psychological abilities. Because estrogen and other hormonal influences during menopause affect the brain's regulation of mood, hormonal changes can cause some women to experience anxiety during menopause. Anxiety is a psychological state characterized by excessive and persistent worry, tension and nervo...

متن کاملOn the relationship between azimuthal anisotropy from shear wave splitting and surface wave tomography
[1] Seismic anisotropy provides essential constraints on mantle dynamics and continental evolution. One particular question concerns the depth distribution and coherence of azimuthal anisotropy, which is key for understanding force transmission between the lithosphere and asthenosphere. Here, we reevaluate the degree of coherence between the predicted shear wave splitting derived from tomograph...
